in parallel a dvc 4 speaker by itself will present a 2 ohm load to ur amp. in most cases, this causes the amp to provide more power to the sub. so ur 460 watt amp could,in theory, produce 920 watts. realisticly, probably closer to 600-650 watts. this could do a couple of things...1) nothing. just provide power and rock ur sub....2)trip ur amps thermal(or something similar)protection by causing ur amp to get too hot.....3)worse case, smoke ur amp in time due to number two
in series, ur sub will show a 8 ohm load, in theory, cutting ur amps availabel power in half. so then ur 460 watt amp is now 230, but probably closer to 300....in this case, i don't think it will hurt the amp any at all..it just won't produce it's rated power.
oops..just re-read this part..hehe..nevermind
hope that helped
