What wood glue is the best?

Liquid nails, gorilla glue, and subfloor adhesive are all just that.... adhesives.

Stick to Titebond or Elmers. Personally I use Titebond II, but have used Elmers in the past with good results.

Here's what I use:

x2

liquid nails SUCKS ***. I used it for some 2x4 supports on the outside of the wall I did and when taking it apart the 2x4's fell off once I removed the screws //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/furious.gif.fc81ca146dbff91fede3ed290dbc4f4c.gif Shit sucks *** IMO.

TBII and Elmer's Pro are what I use and the wood will split EVERY time you tear it apart, not the glue joint failing.

I tear apart a lot of boxes to test for glue strength, bracing, etc... gorilla glue also failed as the joint came apart every time.

Have you tried using the subfloor adhesives I listed? I've tested the strength before by gluing a 90* corner, just held together by a couple of brad nails. Came back a little while later to try and pull them apart, and I tore off a layer of MDF...the strength of the adhesive was greater than the MDF itself.

Not to mention I hate titebond compared to the subfloor adhesive I use...it sets too quick and just isn't near as strong, from my experiences.

That GE adhesive you listed, I have never personally used. I used to work in the construction industry, and we sold that exact adhesive. A lot of the framers complained about the quality of it.

All in all, its still an adhesive. Ill stick to more than just a physical bond. No pun intended. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Ive used Titebond and Elmers. Both worked great.

Liquidnails will work in a pinch, but Id rather use a real wood glue. It works awesome for gluing other things together, or gluing wood to other things.

i'm new to building boxes here but this is what i've done. started off with putting elmers then screwed to pull it tight so the clue can seal tight. then just to make sure i silicon the inside of the box all around. it's worked great for me so far

Gorilla also makes wood glue now though. Haven't tried it yet, but they do have a line of it available.
