What will give me more spl??

I am going to build a ported box for 2 12's with 1400 watts of amplifier power(rms).I'm debating whether I should build it with circle or slot ports??what do you think will give me maximum spl?also if I do slot port it,should the subs have a divider with there own slot port? Or no divider with one slot port off to one side of the box.The reason i ask is because about a month ago I bought a prefab box with one slot port in the center between the subs and it sounded horrible.(no bass whatsoever)Thanks to all replies

Making slot ports is easy, because then you dont have to worry about buying port tubes. You dont need a divider either.

The box sucked because it was a prefab. I read that the only reason why there are dividers is just for bracing. When I built my box i did not use a divider. I would build a slot port. Because whats the use of buying extra material, when you could just make a slot port out of wood.

are you sure no divider???i would really hate to build this box and have it sound like crap due to no divider and besides won't the subs be fighting (cancellation)for the same airspace?

trust us some people here make boxes liek its our job.. shit some even do make em cause it IS thier job. its a pain to build two chambers. more wood, more port calculations, more gross box area, etc. the subs wont fight for airspace.

and x100000 on the slot port, make it rounded off on the inside though to help port noise

You wont get any audible difference from slot or round ports, the only difference will be the port noise, but a well designed slot port box will sound fine. That will be the easier of the two to make IMO.

Ask anyone who uses aeroports if they get more output from an aeroport or a slot port It wouldn't cost you more than 12.99 per aeroport + shipping from partsexpress.

what does it mean when you say make sure the slot port is rounded off at the end??How do you do that?
