What will be the difference between 1997 Expedition Stock Speakers and Aftermarket?

Will I notice a difference between what I currently have which is;

• 1997 Expedition stock speakers "premium sound" package.
  

and if I decide to install some kind of decent after-market full-range speakers in the doors and separate out the tweets higher into dash?

I am wondering exactly how much difference it will make

Not much of a difference if all you do is replace speakers... Ideally you want to deaden and treat the doors to sound good. Then get new speaker with a nice 4ch to properly power them... Then you will notice a difference

Well what if I deaden and treat the doors to sound good with stock speakers and then use a 4 channel amp to power those?

Will I even need to consider new speakers at all?

The surrounds on 19 year old ford factory speakers are probally on there last legs. If not seal and deaden your doors and see if your okay with the way it sounds. In my opinion sound quality is in the ear of the beholder.

but you have to deaden and seal the doors.

stock speakers ****. and yours stock's are old.

It will make a difference...but what will really be better is replacing the stock headunit. With a better quality one. Then your new speakers will shine.
