38hz gets very loud but it's just something about the 28hz port that makes it wicked and more appealing.

For what purpose? Spl- 38, daily- 20 would give you a low end monster but your front stage would have to be great to keep up. 30 would bring you a good mix. IMO

I hope you're not trying to do SPL then, because 28hz would **** *** on the meter.

Ive owned a ton of these subs, I say tune midband (~40) and let the surface area work for you for the entire bandwidth and dont be preoccoupied by low tuning.

x2, they will get plenty low on their own...id do 35-38

No comps just daily music. I change between the 28hz port and the 38hz port and can't decide whiich one to leave in. Pro's and con's on each I guess. Its now powered by a stetsom 4k2d.

That's nice woodwork, and there's no way mine could compare, but WTF?

If you wanted to run multiple port systems, why not install basic round ports made of hard plastic, and use plugs to swap between the types?

IE, a port(s) setup for one tuning frequency, an tuning port(2) for a second, and plugs or reinforced seals that can clasp over the opening, that would seal up one or the other, or both?

There used to be a company that manufactured such plugs, though I'm sure something custom could be done that would be a faster change out, and no more difficult for the building process.
