What to purchase for new audio system in my car?

wow , some of the info your getting here , all wrong .if you believe some of these guys ,then why not just go to the local flee market and get your system

id stay away from the l7's. i used to run 4 of them in the back of my TB and every couple of months one would blow so i sold them off. alpine type r components are decent, the tweeters are kind of harsh and need to be turned down some from my experience. their pdx line amps are one of the best out there for for sq/power/value, although people will say its overpriced, they have much better sq specs than anything people on here will recommend. stay away from the lower level alpine. idmax subs are a good choice, any decent underground sub will hit hard for a good price and out perform the kicker subs. you need to give a price range for your investment for any real help though, especially on an amp. for the price of an L7 you can get a nice dc or ssa sub

just busy working, all of my money has gone to tools lately, still havent purchased any subs, but i still have your number jim, may not be till after winter that i put the time and money in my truck

full kicker system is always gonna sound good and be very reliable as far as amp frying,sub blowing etc.as far as wiring you can't go wrong with 16 guage unless your system is really extreme.for the box i would recommend about 4 cuft with a small size slot port which should hit from about 25 hz to about 45 hz beautifully!
