What to look for when buying an alternator

This is my first time buying a alternator for my 97 lumina. I don't know what exactly to look for. However I did see a 200 amp alt on db electric for 240 shipped. Are their alts any good? Discuss...

mazzasec i believe thats how you spell it is currently running a db drive and he had a mechman alt might want to ask him or at least he said he was going to try a db drive alt..

doesnt look to bad the machman is a bit more probably but his idle is like 150..

Yeah I sent him a Email. I was going to put another HC2400 in the back, but man.....The space is limited. lol

yeah i seen ever thought of making a battery rack under the back seat not sure what kind of space you have but that might be an option..Passengers might not be real comfortable but you will be happy..

I can't do it the way the seats are. I got the amp running at 2 ohms right now, but I think I should be able to run it at 1ohms with a 200a alternator and a hc2400.

there is a way but its a pain and takes lot of creativity but theres always a way just depends on how bad you want it..You mainly want to look at the idle out ut unless you plan on keeping rpms at 1200 while at a red light..

I want play at full tilt all the time. I just wanna keep my hc2400 and RT charged.

you might be able to get by best way to find out is do it the alt is gonna help a lot over the factory for sure either way so cant be a bad buy..

Yea I just don't want to add another battery brick in the back, which also equals less weight
