what to do with extra power?

ok so im going to be running 2 aq2200d's, on 4 15 re se's. ill make the gain so the subs get around 3k (or should i do more?)

but, i could jsut run with some headroom, but id like to use the watts extra, since i payed for em for the amp. so, any ideas on what to do with ~1200 watts?

Just setup your system to where it sounds good and can play without making the coils stink or the sub bottom out. If you're able to do that then that's all you need to worry about. Don't be so concerned with every little watt, because in the real world you're not going to see the power that amp is rated for. Impedance rise, voltage drops, box design, signal strength, frequency, etc. all play a big role in how much power your subs can handle and how much power they will actually receive. You should also keep in mind that a sub's rated rms doesn't mean jack. Some subs are way overrated in power handling and some are extremely underrated like Audioque.

What am I trying to get at? If the subs start to smell, turn the volume down. If the sub is bottoming out, turn the volume down. Develop good senses and you don't have to worry so much.

With that type of question, You shouldnt be owning a system of that caliber.

Set your gains to 3kw per amp...?

just set the gains at a safe level for subs and just have those extra watts for when you upgrade subs?

headroom is a beautiful thing

What to do run the gain all the way up bass boost at full and if you have it put loud on and than hope you blow your ear drums before you blow the amp or subs. Because of cores we must get every little bit of power a amp puts out.
