So, Tuesday i moved out to Paoli, PA (about 15 miles southeast of philly PA) and i just got settled in, got all my stuff unpacked. Im kinda bored, so what sounds, delicious? A nice cold beer, or two, or six. So i go to the gas station to make the purchase, much to my surprise... nothin. I try another, nothin, a third, and nothin. Finally i ask the dude at the gas station, what's going on, is this a dry county or whatever? He says no, it's not sold at gas stations, convenient stores, grocery stores, and very few restaurants have it, and that i'd have to go to what's called a "beer distribution center" to buy some...

WTF is up with this? does anyone else live somewhere with a situation like that?

BTW, i did find some. and it is delicious //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/redface.gif.62fdbfe1a101588a808c4cff71bcb942.gif
wow i have never heard of anything like this, down here you can buy beer anywhere but CVS

In Md/DC its like that too. Liquor/Wine/Beer is only sold at Liquor stores. Nowhere else.
x2, thank god there are 3 liquor stores within walking distance and over 10 within 5 miles of me haha..you can also buy at bars late at night, it's just a lot more expensive.

edit -- you can buy beer at some gas stations. BP, shell and exxon to name a few..atleast in Frederick

we have drive-thru liqour stores here

dammit. that would be so convenient.

there's gotta be one down here somewhere, they were all over in ohio

i've found 3 "distribution centers" within a 10 mile radius, i guess each township has one. only thing is, is that they do not sell liquor, only beer, i can't seem to find a liquor store.

Always weird to go to a different state and see different alcohol laws and what not.
I was down in Florida over Christmas, and they have drive-through hard liquor stores.

But for some reason, I believe you can't have any sort of malt liquor or beer in a container more than 40 oz... I don't understand why you can't buy a 40.

If you could, I'd be an alcoholic by now.

You should see the selection of hard liqueur and beer at the grocery stores up here, it's impressive, they even have mixers. It sucks in other ways though, a pack of Newports is like $6.50, $5.40 for Marlboro.
