They don't want to learn the language anymore than the muslims wanted to learn spanish when they invaded Spain.

The Spanish didn't want to learn native languages of South America when they showed up either.

The English didn't want to learn native languages when they landed.

We are going to have to force them to learn it by simply not hiring them based soley on their limiting factors to communicate effectively on the job, ie (safety issues). It's for their benefit, learning even 6th grade english can only help them be a more productive member in society. Also, it is a proven fact, based on immigration studies from the 80's and early 90's.

Also I believe it should be the goal of Americans to help welcome the ones here legally and intergrate them into society as soon as possible. Now I don't mean give them 150 acres and a mule, but def. a trade or skill that could possible help cure the flight of jobs to India and abroad.

What most studies have shown is that 3rd generation hispanics for the most part have American ideals and views similar to our own, unlike their past relatives. --->

Tougher immigration laws and penalties are needed, but to do our part we should work together to conform 1st and 2nd generations faster towards our basic standards and communitive ideals.

Time for everyone to take a history lesson... read about the downfall of Rome... If there is one place that everyone wants to move to because the quality of life is better, wealthier, etc.. then when everyone has moved there that quality disappears and it just becomes like everywhere else.

This is exactly why you have "White Flight"... it has nothing to do with race but of culture. People don't like what they're not comfortable with so they tend to congregate with their own. When you think about it though what is the reason why all of these people want to move here... Money, jobs, quality of life, etc.. it all boils down to the people who contribute positively to a society. I would argue that the Hispanic immigrants coming to this country is the best source of productivity or boost to the economy since the Italians/Irish came a 150 years ago.

Ranger, it is quite possible that you are right. As I believe that the US is the greatest nation God gave man I understand the desire to be here.

I do not support coming here illegally. Probably that is a result of my own fight with a less-than-agreeable immigration department but there it is all the same. Do it right or get deported. Period.

Well I am here at work like everyday reading this site and I hear people screaming so I go over to the window, 2nd story and there is a crowd of like 150 people on the street corner screaming and one guys as a Mexican flag, wtf is going on. Maybe they just saw the new XXX.

Somehow the people that are in this country illegally find it a result of racism that some people think they should return to wherever it is from whence they came.
Even the president of Mexico says that those who cross the border from Mexico into the United States without permission and legal documentation are not "illegals" and he is offended by them being termed as such. He prefers for them simply to be called "migrants."

As I have been fighting literally for YEARS to gain residency (not even citizenship ~ just legal alien residency) of a foreign country the LEGAL way I have no sympathy whaysoever for the undocumented aliens. Round 'em all up, put 'em on a bus, a truck, whatever and send 'em back. If they come back again? Lock 'em up in the worst place imaginable and feed them only the bare minimum required to sustain life. After a few months of being treated in such a fashion go ask them is living in America so great after all or would they like to go home and lick their wounds.

the way i see it the borders midas well be open. 'gangsters' are just going to find a way to come no matter what. the only thing opening the border up would do is let law biting citizens in. kind of like gun control laws, the only thing they do is keep good citizens from getting guns. the 'thugs' already have them illegally
