Thats right bishes...
Im going to be shipping a package that is ~350 lbs, and have been trying to decide which freight service to use. Anyone have any input or experiences?
Yes I think there is more than one. Good thing you brought this up. that may be a good avenue for him to look into. They are basically brokering the loads. They have the accounts with discount and they tack a broker fee for themselves and pass the rest of that savings to the shipper. I never thought of it, because every company I have worked for has had pretty good discounts with one or 2 big freight names already.there is a frieght shipping website like priceline that will give you good rates.
Thanks, ill check all those, do you have an account or ship as individual? And what was the heaviest item that you have shipped? (lb wise)USF Holland has done well for me, as have SouthEastern and Old Dominion.

Ya i noticed when you do a rate quote they all drastically discount their price, i thought it might be because its a heavy item, but i guess its for account holders...Without a commercial account with discounting, a lot of the big names like Yellow, roadway, Old Dom, etc will be probably be higher than Fedex Freight. Our company gets a 75% discount on Roadway, but if I ship something personally I won't get jack crap for a discount.
