What test tones to play

Don't have access to a mic...I have a CD filled with test tones from 5hz- 60hz. Each track is 10secs long so I was planning on playing a few tracks for like 5 secs and switching it to a higher track. Should I see which one gets louder by having the volume low?

you will be shocked at how fast 30 sec. is untill you have done it a few times.... don't really have much time to switch tracks.... as for low volume i do but i also know what my truck does DB wise..... so i don't wanna show everything in qualifying LOL but you might wanna max out to see what your gonna do..... you may not get many passes.... as for tuneing my box is tuned to 41-42 and i peak at 38.... so you just never know... the mic also hates my truck and for the deadening yes yes yes tuned that low you flex metal all over that SUV......

crazy, I'm tuned to 28 and to the ear it sounds like mine peaks around 35...

and that is the reason we can't give him and answer, it depends too much on the individual car/install

LOL yup i thought i would peak higher the first time i was trying 45+ and i wasn't gettin' shit on the mic then i did a sweep and my magic # was 38 but i also had unlimited runs for tuneing so that also helps out the you don't have a mic

2000 s10 reg. cab with a blow thru port is in the center of the bucket seats

yea i can't break 150 on the new tl now i'm trying to do it with 1200 watts and 2 12's just messing with the install i'm about 4.6 db away but dam you need a telescope to see that goal LOL with what i got

Run a sweep on your first pass. You should get 2 passes. Volume doesn't have to be all the way up. Open your door and ask the guy(if it's a TL) what your peak freq was. Then click to that track number and hit it.

The guy hosting the show should have a CD that is used. I guess that begs the question, what organazation are you competing in? Get a USACi CD off their site. I have a 0db sweep if you need it.

what are you running i got a re 35.1d and a re xxx should be here like next week, im gonna put it about 2.3-2.5cubes at 33-35hz im still playing around with the box, then will probly get my truck metered

I've never been to an SPL competition. I always thought you played regular music (Like Linkin park for example) and went off what your sub did on that particular track.

So in an SPL competition, you are playing tones----- is it music at all, or it is just your sub by itself, with your door speakers playing no part?

u can play whatever you want but sine waves/test tones, are louder than music
