What Subwoofer Should I Put In My 2010 Jetta Wolfsburg??

I have a JL 12W3V3-4 and a JL 12W6V2 that I am trying to decide which one to put in my new car. I started with the W3 and it sounded great but then found the W6 at a pawn shop brand new for $175 and I couldn't pass it up. Both of the subs were powered individually by my MTX X500D amplifier. I had each of them in my 1999 Passat and once I put the W6 in the trunk lid bent. I listen to all rap music and plan on keeping the stock system in my 2010 Wolfsburg besides adding a sub, but don't know which one to put in. I was going to put in the W6 and add dynamat or something like it but don't know if that will help reduce the damage the sub causes. Personally I am thinking the W3 sounded better in my passat but I may be wrong. What would you guys do? Whichever sub I don't use I can sell to a friend who wants whichever one I'm selling.

Haha no it's not. I'm serious though, the passenger side of the trunk lid was bent slightly up. I looked around for marks of a pry bar or something but there was nothing. The lid was for sure still flat in that spot a month ago when I waxed it.

I was thinking that I should keep the w6 too. Do you think it's capable of bending anything on my new car? That's all I'm really worried about? In your opinion does the w6 sound better than the w3?

Not to sound negative, but I can not see a w6 doing that. Unless you have the limited edition that does 160db on 500rms //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

But yes, I'd keep the W6 unless you can sell it for a fair amount more than the W3 to your buddy.

I didn't believe it at first either but I couldn't figure out what the he'll bent my trunk up like that. Perhaps thieves are using rubber coated tools these days lol. Now would hooking a sub up to my factory system void the warranty or is that a question I ask vw? Would you guys get the dynamite or leave it alone? In my passat all you could hear with it cranked up loud was the trunk vibrating and that was without the dynamat

I think you'd have more than the trunk to worry about after that.

Would installing my sub void the warranty? Do you think there is a need for Dynamat? My passat was sealed well. All I could hear outside the car was the rattle of the trunk.
