I have a camaro with a custom q logic box. i was looking at three different types of subs and was wondering if anyone could give me their opinions on which one to go with. The are the dual 2 ohm alpine type r, the Mtx 7500, and the Kick 05compvr 12 in 2 ohms. All the subs are 12" subs. thanks

MTX jackhammer :p

I did a set of 03 12' comp vrs off a earthquake 600 amp. And it gets very loud for such a cheap setup. But the design of the car helps alot with that as well. I think you can do a setup like this with a box for around 350 the box was small like 1.0 per sub. And they still did well.

I also would personaly stay away from the type r for your car, just because i just got them in a sealed 1.25 box per sub I was not happy at all with them. at 750rms a piece.

I am going to be doing them in a large ported box I believe that will make a huge diffrence on them but i dont believe you really have that much room for something like this.

how custom is this pre-fab Q logic box???(is it ported(tuning) or sealed) What amp? What are your goals for these subs?

Both are good subs, through my experience, I would go with the MTX, plus not as many people have them
But the magnet is large on that and he doesnt really have that type of room to make a large box, I know from having to install in the same car as his. He needs kind a shallow mount sub that he can use most of the air space to his advantage buying a expensive sub that will take up most of the space that the box he can build is pointless. Thats like buying 2 18's and putting them in a 2.0 box in a ranger. There just isnt the type of room to have a sub do its best. He is better off at saving money getting a sub that wouldnt require so much space and use it 100%. Just my opinion though. He could run 4 15's back there if he wanted to as well. I am just trying to be more practical about it.

I am willing to spend no more than about 230 per sub but i have found all three of these subs very good prices. I am running about 480 watts rms at 2 ohms to a sub. i think it runs around 350 watts at 4 ohms. The q logic box is sealed.

I will tell you what, why dont you buy my jl 12w6v2 with that amount of power in a nice box that I know single 12 you can fit in that car it will slam. And sound amazing as well. This thing gets loud with little power and I am sure if you ask alot of peopel around here they will agree that this thing will get loud and good of that amount of power
