what subs on 3.5k@.5ohm

most of these subs being posted are going to want more power than you have on tap to run 2 to their potential.

copper coil hdc3 18's would work nicely, some alpha v2s, nightshades built for that power level, level 4 xls... i went to 2 more efficient 18's because i didnt want to underpower a pair of 9518g's (used to have one) with 2k each.

i think it would have done a little more, but i never tried to squeeze every ounce out of it, it was plenty loud for me. just make sure you can keep steady voltage, they dont like to see under 12v, especially at low impedences.

check this out, i think this guy said he was only running like 1500w on these bl 18's.

Two Subs : RD Alpha, HDC's, IA DP's, FI BTL's, RE MT's, DC Lvl4xl

my bad, he has an aq 2200d on both subs so about 1100 each.

to demonstrate the efficiency of subs thing a little, my first setup in the explorer was 2 fi q 15's on a crossfire vr2000d @ 1 ohm, so they saw about 1200 a piece. i did a direct swap, same box to the bl 15's with the vfl @ 2 ohms, where they saw about the same amount of power, and it was close, but not quite as loud as the q's. i dropped it to .5 ohms, and they really came alive, walked all over the q's.

i run 2 Orbitals in the rear, going to get one for under the hood in january when they go on sale again and going to be ordering a MLA Module from missing link. oh and i run a 200 amp alt... i should beable to run .5 easily, my voltage would stay 14.0-14.2 when slamming with amp at 1 ohm
