What screws to use?

I just got a 12" Type R and a cheap pre-fabbed box (just temporary until I can get more money) and I was wondering what type of screws I'm supposed to use to screw the type r onto the box?

i used either 3/4" or 1/2" wood screws cant remember which, its been a while.

It doesn't really matter what type of screw-heads (allen, torx, phillips) as long as the screw itself is of a pretty coarse thread pattern.

In fact, I've heard of people using a mixture of screw types to make it difficult to steal.

1 5/8" coarse threaded drywall screws FTW!!!

I use allen screw based screws that can be found at your local hardware store. More specifically, I got mines @ Osh hardware.

crown bolt #8 flat head brass, ftw! they pretty much countersink themselves

Those wonderboard screws are pretty sick. Serrated threads.

Honestly you should be using sheetmetal screws to mount the sub. The bottom of the screwhead should be flat, not cone shaped. You can also use machine screws and T-nuts.

thats a really good idea. but i bet if they couldn't get it out, theyd just stab it with a philips head or something in frustration.

Yeah, and that would **** ***.

But, at least they wouldn't have made off with your DD9515, SS RL-S, or MT motors.
