I'm wondering if upgrading my Head Unit would give me a noticeable improvement in SQ. I currently have the Premier DEH-P880PRS (Active) thinking about the Clarion DRZ9255.

Yes it will sound different. Those units are on two different levels.

I'm not sure what you mean; if you’re referring to using it in a 3 way vs. 4 way mode I need to know. I didn't know there would be an issue not using the Mid Range outputs.

You should be able to run it 3 way no problem.

You mean your 880prs? Ya, thats definately a lower class HU than the DRZ.

If your referring to the DRZ, your sadly mistaken. The CLarion is leaps and bounds above the 880.

Dream on! In my 25 years of selling/installing HU, Clarion has never been hiEnd! Allways mid fi and allways will be.

You can see it in this HU, MSRP is like $1400. and it has the features of a $300. HU.

Now Pioneer makes great sounding HiEnd HU's for a very fair price. The 880 cost less than $500. and is a super hiend SQ HU. If the Clarion does sound better(not likely)at $1400.? thats not saying much. Lets see Clarion make a better HU for $500. Than I'll buy one.

Clarions got a better and more functional HU than the 880 in the $300 range. Not only that, it doesn't have the micro fuse issue. DXZ775USB.
