what makes one motor better than the other?

Assuming you are using the same coils, spiders, etc... but different motors, what about the motor makes one louder than the other?

My reason for asking is because i just had one of those random thoughts and decided to make a fool of myself on here asking dumb questions.

My thought was this: what if someone had like 2 big *** motors... like an RD SHW and took them apart, put all of the magnets together, and had a new T-yoke made with a taller pole piece to compensate for the extra magnets. Of course then you would also want a longer coil and would need a really wide surround but...

More slugs =/= more better //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

Wider slugs + more steel = more better.

Motors differ in the amount of flux they have in the gap. That's controlled through a variety of factors such as gap height and width, etc.
