Wow! I even get a diagram //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif Excellent stuff //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gifif you mount your crossovers under the dashboard or in the door, you will need less wire because ONE pair of wires goes from the amp to the crossover, and TWO pairs of wire goes to its respective tweeter or midrange.
||------[]====8
*KEY*
|| amp
--- wire from amp to crossover
[] crossover
== TWO wires
8 midrange and tweeter
if that makes sense. so if you mount the crossovers in the trunk, we are talking about TWICE as much wire being ran through the car.
Yeah, that all makes sense. Crossovers in door = less wiring.
I am still debating whether or not I should biamplify the Utopias . . . If I do, then each of the woofers and tweeters would be getting 50W RMS each using the PPI Ax400 (where as a tweeter/woofer pair is rated at 100W RMS). If I bridge the amp and use the Utopia crossovers, I would be getting 200W RMS x 2. Biamplifying seems like a cool idea, and I could control the tweeter/woofer dbs and slopes from my Alpine 9835 deck separately . . . just not sure if I would have enough power . . .
Thanks!
