this is gonna be kinda hard to explain, but maybe someone can help me, ive got 2 5.25 inch spkrs in my doors, and i bought a crossover from walmart, i didnt think it would really matter. On my alpine 9843 deck, my goal setting was to be able to have the volume at 15 or 16 with max being 35, and my bass at +5 with +10 being max. but these walmart crossovers arent that good, and it blocks they really low freq, but still not quite enough for what im lookin for, most songs i cant have my settings like this bc it distorts the crap outta the 5.25 spkrs. My 6X9s are just fine with the walmart crossovers, but i think i need something higher for the fronts. Problem is that i dont know what HZ level they block, so i dont really know which ones to get. I dont really know what kind of medium im lookin for, i would like to knock out the bass freq, but also not sound like a tweeter. Ill use "candy shop" for an example, i think most people know the bass line in it. The bass line goes "boom, boom, booooooooooooom". The big "boooooooooom" is blocked my the high pass, but the "boom" distorts like hell. Anyone have any idea what HZ level i would need to knock that out, or know what kind of crossover would do it?
I looked on ebay, and they have 100 hz, 200 hz, and 300 hz. im thinkin the ones i have now are 100 hz, but im just guessing.
