just bumpin my music
my friend has a kicker kx700.5 amp, and currently has a 12" MB Quart D-series sub connected to the 5th channel. the amp is rated at 400 X 1 @ 2 ohms on the sub channel i believe, but we turned the gain down on the amp because sub is only rated for like 250 watts. the sub is currently in a 1 cu ft sealed box.
he just got a 12" AA Arsenal the other day because he wants more power, even though i told him that its the amp that puts out the power, he still thinks there will be a difference. i suggested porting the box for the Arsenal but the didn't want to do that. so we are going to build a 1.5 cu ft sealed box.
so my question is, will there be any audible difference between the aforementioned MBQ sub and the AA Aresenal in a 1.5 cu ft box?
with the gains set properly, he should see a slight amount of increase correct?
i'm afraid he won't be getting what he's looking for... but i can't say i didn't tell him...
