I have a hatchback, and originally i was going to get a 8 or 10" assassin, with some comp's up front, and not worry about the back speakers, with a class D mono amp for the woofer and another one for the comps

what would you guys think of having one 10" assasin with ascent's 6.5 midwoofer on either side of that?

is this a waste of money, would it sound much better?

does that mean i'd either get a 4 channel amp to do the comps and the two 6.5's with?

thanks in advance

If your not big on bass, then you can go 4-channel run the mids left and right to the front two channels and bridge the rear two channels to the sub. Underpowering the sub will not smoke it distortion will. Im not familiar with the assasins whats the RMS they claim on it?

I think its a great Idea but how are you crossing them over? If your using the amp to do it then I wouldn't. I would get component sets, that have a woofer 6" or 7" and tweeter and crossover that should serve the purpose you are looking for. You can mount the woofer in the door position and the tweeter next to it or up high on the a pillar, by doing so will give you a wider dynamic sound range. Did you all ready buy the mids?
