What kind of amp for kicker?

Its a different guy that jumped in with those pics

And yes that box is way to small if youre trying to get "loud", ported is what you want, but be prepared to give up atleast 3X more cargo space than that current cube takes up

Not amps. Watts.. and I would use 700+ on that woofer... Also, your box looks WAY to small and is sealed. Everyone keeps telling you to do a 3 cubic foot ported box.
ok thank you, me and xjbuminbeast are friends, hes getting an L7 and I got and L5. but we are both getting the same TMA 1000 watt amp. and both have a sony hu.

thats fine i want loud! How do you tune a box btw

By calculating. Not just a simple whole in a box.
Check this link.

You enter in your own measurements, and make it EXACTLY as it says, gives you cut sheets and everything. Tune for 32-34hz and try and get atleast 2-2.5 cubes for your L5

Be very careful powerring that L5 with 1000rms, it wont take it like the L7 will
thanks again but if i run it using two ohms ill get 700 to the L5 correct? And is there a massive difference between the two

Hifonics arent reliable dont go with them. Like I told your buddy, I dont know anything about the amp you guys are buying, but it has good reviews, does rated power and its built by a company who builds a SOLID product, so I would trust it. If it has a warranty then why not try?

About what power you could wire your L5 to, is your sub also a dual voice coil 4 ohm? If it is then yes. But make sure you know what model sub you have, guessing could put you in a hairy situation

The L5 and L7 are VERY different in sound, output and power handling. The L7 is worth the extra $50. The L5 should be fine on 700rms if setup properly, but that would be close to its max. Id feel safe giving an L7 much more than its rated for.

That TMA amp is fine, my friend uses one and it does rated power and runs cool. It is an excellent deal for $200. If you were looking to run an amp @2ohms, I would look at the Kicker ZX 750.1, they do closer to 900 watts @2ohms.
