What just happened...

It will **** if its the amp, it was signed by Dirk Ecker from USAmps just for me, i might just have to sell it, good thing is that its still on warranty.

Okay, i was putting my amp behind my seat then i had to reground it... i switched the ground then i took out the + from the amp so i can screw in easier... when im all done the last thing i had to do is put the + back in the amp, then when im screwing in i see lil sparks... then i go to under my hood and i had forgotten to unhook the - from the batt!!! Then i unhooked it and screwed in but when i turn on my car my amp goes into protect automatically, only thing their is to do now is check the ground, did i just blow my amp?
Okay, your problem probably has something to do with that. Never have the power line in while the ground isn't. You probably shorted out the amp while the battery was still giving it power.

I also fried an old school sherwood amp back in the day the same way as you described. this is exactly why i put a circuit breaker right before my distribution block (in addition to the fuse under the hood), so that i can just hit the button to disconnect power without having to pop the hood, then when you're done just flip the breaker back on.

when my old amp died, it would turn on, and jsut before it would play music it would go into protection. Been sitting in my garage for years. Sounds like the amp to me. since you didn't really mess with anything else.
