"Like you said" doesn't speak to the facts fo the matter. I'll give it another shot at getting you to go beyond "Because I said so" rhetoric:
Tell me I'm wrong. Explain how self-preservation is not our innate #1 priority.
Provide something other than "because I said so".

i.e. Those who know they are useless to the species are more likely to act in self-destructive ways.
Tell me how avoiding or ignoring an innate priority of survival that exists (even at the cellular level) is NOT lacking in common sense.
