You could look a little more into the numbers before you claim that others need to look at the bigger picture. I have no desire or time to really get into it, but it’s like the infant mortality rate. In America we try to save every single baby even if the baby has serious preexisting conditions, and we count said baby in the infant mortality rate. In Europe, most babies with serious preexisting conditions have little attempt to be saved or delivered, and they don’t count those babies that were never delivered in the infant mortality rate. It skews the number, then people who saw a Facebook meme once can claim “they know the numbers”. Come on man.
Are you denying that most other advanced nations are achieving superior healthcare outcomes? But lets assume they don't. They're stilling spending ~1/2 as much as us to achieve "similar results." But lets make sure we put Big Pharma's interests first, even though they are "Evil."

Yet another op/ed piece that you post as smoking guns.

Why do you latch on so easily to nonsense, but do everything you can to dispute science and facts?

No. They do provide better care. They spend 1/2 as much if you do a shallow dive into the numbers. All of those countries are subsidized by us, in the form of military spending they don’t have to spend, and Americans making up the losses by big pharma by over paying for the same drugs that Europe gets for cheap. My point is that they provide better care because they aren’t spending money that they will have to spend if America gets on the same system. Are you suggesting that big pharma is just going to give you and I cheap drugs from the goodness of their heart? Did they make record profits last year off of Germany somehow?

One must look at those corporations and see how many people they employee, and how much tax revenue is generated from those they employ. Giving those jobs gets them a perk of being able to write certain things off. Many of these places give employers medical coverage, stock options, and say pensions. One must also look into what the profits of that corporation are tied up in like let’s say stocks. It would be insane to tax someone on shares they own that they don’t sell. The prices fluctuate and isn’t guaranteed. Then you have to understand that trying to tax someone who is worth billions of dollars in a very high fashion can drive them to go somewhere else. Look what has happened over the last 3 years with California and New York. Combined both states lost nearly $100 billion is tax revenue from people fleeing to red states like florida. I’d be one of those people but I have more time to do on my 9-5 to earn my full pension. It’s the only thing holding me back. I don’t think it’s just that simple by taxing the rich more. Some loop holes can be closed but I think it’s gotta be within reason. Can’t just say hey half of what you made we gotta take it 😅.
The problem is these people are taxed at extremely low rates. As we know Trump barely pays taxes if he pays any at all, yet he owns a gold plated Central Park Penthouse. So I think there is plenty of room to be within reason. Ross Perot was paying ~10% taxes when he ran, Teresa Heinz Kerry was paying 17% when John Kerry ran. Romney paid 20% when he ran.

If I could create my own tax system, it wouldn't be income based, it would be wealth based, so it wouldn't matter if somebody held onto stocks or not.

US Healthcare - Spending lots of money for poor results.

Really difficult to take a quality of Healthcare study seriously when equity is one the top factors and no rating for innovation...

Remove deductions and implement a flat tax

What have we spent in Ukraine so far in 2023? I know how we all want the system to work well, but it mathematically can’t. It’s impossible. It’s so corrupted and laced with suspect spending practices. FFS, even the federal cleaning contracts are rigged and they aren’t even worth anything in comparison to the big government contracts. The cousin of the FBI director gets the cleaning contracts even if they are underbid by a local company, for example.
