Eye of the beholder?
I would say claiming Mexico would pay for a wall that we build was pandering.
I would say pormising to deliver "healthcare for everyobdy" when you have no plan, no experience, and no knowledge of how to do it, to be pandering.
I would say a promise to ban assault weapons is pandering, given the complete lack of understanding by most of what an assault weapon IS.
I would say a promise to ban frakking on federal lands could be pandering, if it was know that the decision would just be a back-and-forth court battle.
If a president is simply pandering but actually achieves these "empty" promises, do we discount the achievements as not relevant?
Is it better to make "serious" promises, but not deliver?
