So, they were going to change the results of the election by breaking into the Capitol building and holding up signs?
The guns, baseball bats, pepper spray, flagpoles, stun guns and pipe bombs that they brought were all just to hold up their protest signs? That's quite the reality you're living in there. I suppose you think akid carrying a dozen eggs on October31st is probably just planning to make an omelet.
"In his speech on January 6, Trump used the words "fight" or "fighting" twenty times. Trump described Republicans on his side as "warriors," rather than participants in a democratic process. And he described the stakes in existential terms. "And we fight," he said. "We fight like hell. And if you don't fight like hell, you're not going to have a country anymore."
Trump managed to falsely claim 32 times in this single speech that the election was stolen or "taken," and that the vote tally resulted from "illegal" or "unconstitutional" actions. And who did the stealing? It was "stolen by emboldened radical left Democrats... and the fake news media."
Lemme guess: by "fight like hell" he meant "stand outside with signs and sing "We are the Champions"?
"On Dec. 19, Trump promised a “big protest in D.C. on January 6th. Be there, will be wild!” Trump promoted the rally again on Dec. 27, Dec. 30, and Jan. 1"
"Will be wild". Maybe he meant they'll put extra Hershey syrup in their milk, or eat cookies WITHOUT dunking them? Hold a Bible UPRIGHT while pretending to be a man of god?
Peaceful protests are FAR from wild.
“We love you. You’re very special,” he said to supporters even as they marched through the Capitol waving Confederate battle flags.
He LOVES them, even as they are in the US Capitol, waving the flag of the Confederacy, attempting to overthrow our government?
WOW, quite the man of law and order. Stand by, Proud Boys. Trump will issue your orders soon.
"Trump repeated his theme when confronted by protesters: “See, in the good old days this didn’t use to happen, because they used to treat them very rough.” Shortly afterwards, a supporter attacked a protester, leading eventually to the assailant’s arrest and to an actual investigation of whether Trump had committed a crime."
He wasn't actually telling people to beat up protesters, just suggesting that it was nice in the "good old days" that you could do it. You know, the time we need to return to so we cam "Make America Great AGAIN".
Trump didn't incite insurrection? Yeah, and Charlie Manson didn't incite murder.
Either you're really stupid, or you play dumb just so you can live the fantasy reality that suits your narrative.
