What is your hangover cure?

This is proper advice. And tRdoc knows what he is talking about. To reduce the painful effects of the hangover (not necessarily the mental effects) before i know i am going to get absolutely wrecked, i will drink a good deal of water and sometimes gatorade (try to avoid extra sugar, especially if drinking). I will usually take a double dose of vitamins, especially B class vitamins. During the drinking session i try to get some water in me between drinks. Right before bed/passing out, i will take another dose of vitamins, not nessarily multi vitamins but more b complex. I will also take a few ibuprofen however this might not be the best advice as it can compound the effects on your liver. Finish everything out with a lot of water.

In the morning i will drink drink and drink water, another dose of vitamins and hope for the best.

HOWEVER, the BEST CURE i have ever had was when working in the field in Indonesia. After facing a day in equatorial heat in some of the most sh!tty conditions imaginable after a hard night of drinking, the med team would hook us up with a saline drip and MAN!!!! after 30 minutes i felt as good as gold!!!

WINNAR!!! My cure for the most part is just before bed drinking a bottle or two of water to rehydrate. Also my chaser and mixer of choice is gatorade and powerade so I am good on the electrolytes. I usually wake up in the morning groggy and still drunk, but no drunk stomache and no headache. I do drink more water though and some gatorade. As for food, I stick to tomato heavy dishes. Alot of italian or some good fruits. Gotta get my vitamins.

4 rapid release tylenols as soon as i feel the headache after waking up. then i just go right back to sleep.
agreed. aspirin or ibuprofen of some sort, liquid before bed and sleep as long as possible. if yoiuy wake up and feel like shit, go back to sleep. after drinking some water

As long as I take a couple ibuprofin and a big glass of water before I fall asleep, I never wake with a hangover. If I do pass out before I get the water down, I have a bloody caesar in the morning.

4 tablets of xtra strength alka-seltzer in the morning will cure ANY pains guaranteed (i'm a professional drunk by trade) followed by slamming two beers and some ibubrofen. good as gold.

When I was back in HS, my first stop on the way to school was for a 20oz MD and a Snickers Ice Cream Bar. I would follow that with as much water as I could drink between classes. By lunch I was right as rain.

FWIW, acetaminophen (Tylenol) should NEVER be taken with alcohol! Acetaminophen is harmful to your liver and taking it with alcohol in your system only multiplies that effect. If any OTC pain med is to be taken for a hangover, it should be one of the many NSAIDs, such as asprin or ibuprofen.

For those of you pill poppers out there, know that percs have a very high volume of acetaminophen in each pill. Drinking while popping percs is a big no no for your liver. Stick with normal oxys because they do not have acetaminophen in them.

As for why you feel like sh!t after a long night drinking, it is a lack of hydration and a build up of lactic acid in your muscles. You need a high volume of good old H2O and some simple sugars to start and should follow that with some fat and protien (aka breakfast). If you can get any of that in BEFORE you go to sleep, you will be fine in the AM. So my advice is to get some grub before you go home. Find a Denny's or something on the way home. Drink at least 20oz of water before you hit the pillow.
