Ok so. 2003 cavalier. Save the cavalier jokes. New car being saved up for.

So when I turn the key sometimes the instrument lights flickered before it stop doing anything.

Sometimes it would take two or three steps on the gas pedal to get it going.

A co-worker said it might be the alternator.?.

So I am going to test and pull the batts.

Open to suggestion. I will be recieving opinions via Email. Let em fly.

Checked and cleaned your battery terminals lately? A loose and or corroded terminal will cause crazy things. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

New moneymaking feature?
Yeah, blinker fluid is pretty much just a new money making scheme by the auto industry, you know how that is. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif But if its low, the car can act the way you described yours. I think Chevy uses Type F blinker fluid, but ask the guy at your local parts store just to be sure. He'll be able to tell you where the dip stick is located too.

Let us know where he said the dip stick was.

OK, this is not you. Someone have your password again?

Well, the battery is fine, both, and the alternator puts out like a Crack Ho. I think it is the ignition switch? No engine issues, no power drops, no surging.

I couldn't find the fluid. It must be invisable.

...if not working properly it will make your idle go frantic or should i say raise an lower with out compressing the throttle...
This can cause an really high idle, a lumpy/surging idle or no idle at all. The solution is to either replace or clean the IAC.
