What is to much???

I have a JL500-1 running two 10w3vs's (250 watts to each). The gain is set right and the bass boost is on 3db. I was wondering how high you could turn it up before blowing the subs? If your only running 250 watts to a sub that is rated for 300watts can you blow it? I would like to know what my subs can really handle!!!

the subs could handle more than 250 but you don't wanna max out your amp. a clipped signal from your amp could ruin the subbbbs

More importantly, you can clip the amp and burn the amp up.

So turning up the bass boost to much can clip the amp? Anyone know how to tell BEFORE you get to that point? I am running a sealed box if that helps
