I've looked in two repair manuals and online and cant figure out what this module is. I need to bypass it or something so I can hook up my 1/0.

It attaches to the positive post on the battery and looks like it has a vacuum tube going into a capacitor looking thing. 98 Ford Contour 2.0 Thnx

looks to me that you dont need to bypass it just use the top battery ports which appear to be open
It is attached to the top posts. the metal you see under the yellow wire sleeve goes to the post and attaches there.

That whole thing is the module. Hard plastic tubing and the rectangle to the right of it under the wire.

Before I bypass it just want yo be sure it isn't the "Anti Explosion device" or something.

It isn't a module, just a distribution center for the wiring. You know one post, lots of little wires coming out of it. They go to the power distribution box. The single wire beside it is just a connector. Can't remember what it goes to off the top of my head. Maybe down to the starter. At any rate, you can't just get rid of it or there will be no power to the fuseblock.
