what is this tuned to?

It's about 2.3 cubes tuned to ~44hz assuming a double baffle top and 3/4" wood with no bracing.
thanks

no

he built it today and he put 2 rockford 12" p3's in it and it sounds like shit...it is distorting like crazy and it is just horrible...he used bolts as terminals and he used the amp and one of the subs in a diff box yesterday and it sounded great

tomorrow we are going to run wires straight to the subs from the amp and then we are going to try my amp if that doesn't work we are going to take the subs out and see if they are out of phase...i dont think that is it because they are moving in sync with each other...if that doesn't work then i am stumped

I would expect it to sound like shit with some P3s. The distorting you're hearing is probably due to playing below tuning and those subs just won't take that well.
it is not because they are p3's they are not bad subs...you are not getting how bad they sounded...the no name 8's you can get at wal-mart would have sounded better

for anyone that cares...it was the bolts...i guess they had a coating on them and we weren't getting a good connection...we just drilled a hole in the box and ran a wire straight from the amp to the subs

My comment wasn't against the P3s (I have heard a new P3 and it sounded just fine to me for the price) but against the enclosure / sub combination.
o...it is tuned to 44hz right now...what do you think it should be tuned to? it wouldn't be hard to change it
