what is this tuned to

ok, my friend built my box for me and it was before i go into car audio this much, but now i want to know what my box is tuned to..

it is made from 3/4" MDF wood...and has a single L7 12" in it.

Ok i want to know how many cubes i have after sub and port....also want to know what my port is tuned to

The external dimensons are L= 29", W= 12.75", H= 15"

My port is L= 22", W= 2.5", H= 13.25"

I dont know what the sub dim. are...it's a 12" L7...

also is there a tool i can use to figure out port tuning on my own...

Assuming the port is an actual 22" long with a 90 degree bend in the rear, you have close to 1.75 ft^3 tuned to 42-43 Hz. Is the rear section of the port 9.25" long?

I am confused, are you sure the port is 13.25" tall? If the box is 15" tall, 3/4" wood, the internal height is 13.5".

yup. its .09 cu. ft.

27.5 x 11.25 x 13.5 = 4177

21.75 x 3.25 x 13.5 = 954 (assuming straight port out the side - even more if 90 degree bend).

4177-954 = 3223 / 1728 = 1.86 - .09 = 1.77 ft^3

With that slot port, tuning is 42-43 Hz.

Did I miss something?

sorry...i guss it would have helped to let you know the port goes out the left side. it is a stright port...and yeah the port is 13.5 tall

ok so this box is tuned very high..right.....i am about to add another 12 and have a whole new box made....i am thinking about tuning it to 33 hz and having the whole box 5 cubes after sub adn port...will this be a better setup

i dont really....i like songs like "late night trip", anything by lil john, i really like the low's that rattle your brains...but im worried that if i tune too low it wont be loud...what would be a good tuning for 2 L7 12....im going to try to get 5 cubes after sub and port in a s-10 extended cab..
