This is a question for a friend.....

He has limited space....

well He was wondering what is the smallest possible box to put a pair of 12" r's in?

smallest box while still keeping up to the type-r name.....so they still get loud and low?

i downloaded the type-r owners man. off the alpine site....it says recommended 1.7cubes per sub.....that makes 3.4 just for the subs.....then you have to add in the port and sub displacement.....looking somewhere close to 4 cubes gross.....

well, i want to ask actual users of the type-r subs.....

what would you suggest for the smallest box.....?

well.....me and him were looking @ this......

so you think they will do good in this box?

you don't need a box with R's..................but for the safe side 3.5
What the fvck are you talking about? "You don't need a box with R's?" //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif

I say 2.0 is about the smallest you should run per sub.....do a single R 15 if you can't get 4.0 plus port/sub....

Alllllllllllllllllrighty, you are gonna get tons of answers on this, I actually built my R 10s into Alpine recommended boxes. They sounded awesome, and hit pretty good too. I tried them in a much bigger box but the inconsistancy of the note volume drove me back to the first setup. I just like the sound and feel better. Im building some 12" into their respective alpine recommended boxes for a buddy. I have the Google sketch up file to scale if you are interested.

alpine recommended box is 1.3 cubes net //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif

I had my R's in a box that size. Also had em in 2.5 each. Liked the 2.5 each setup the best. By far.
i'm sure...i think alpine just recommended that size so it will appeal to people who don't have much room...but it works best in a bigger size box...
