Are you planning on building a new box? What are the specs of the one you have now. This info may alter what subs are suggested.
ram designed ported box tuned to 32hz.Are you planning on building a new box? What are the specs of the one you have now. This info may alter what subs are suggested.
by loudness do you mean sensitivity? If not, then I guess you mean power handling. In this case your first order of business is a bigger/better amp, not subs.well i dont mind if the next step is 500$ even. im just looking for the VERY next step that you guys would consider above a type R subwoofer. next step up on loudness, then the cheapest ones that are the next step up that you guys would still recommend.
level 3's are ideal sealed, correct? They have similar specs to my Polk SR, which I was told I'd need a (relatively) really big box if i wanted to go ported due to its mechanics/specsget the dc lvl 3's or the old re audio se's

Probably..but to answer your question, Type X would be the next logical "step" given that they are same brand. Would those be too expensive?
Like I said it will be an increase in SPL and SQ, if you do it right. I owned both consecutively.now, do the older SE's really sound better than the new ***'s? Or did one person say this and it has become an exploded rumor? The new *** models seem exactly the same just with a different, proprietary basket, which shouldn't affect its performance. The only negative reviews i've seen is people who have "owned both" but really the only objective way to compare would be a BLIND comparison.
If I had to choose between Type R and the RE SE/*** i'd buy the RE as i've heard many great things, but would it really be that much of an upgrade? The RE does have lower Fs though, which translates to (slightly) better sound quality and deeper bass extension?
lol you're reading the specs for the SR, not the SE.Like I said it will be an increase in SPL and SQ, if you do it right. I owned both consecutively.
I went on RE's website.. Seems like they changed the spec on the old sub. The 15" weight 25lbs even they say it weighs 16.5, also used to have 600w power handling, now 300... RE maybe shouldn't be trusted..
