i think he means wire that comes with the shield fused together. just pull it, its fine, it should only be a few inches, and should be going into the terminals.

Oh, like the + and - together of speaker wire.

Yeah take a razor to the edge, just enough to get a grip, then pull, it comes apart easy. Well, thats what I do.

ya just cut a tiny bit and pull apart..should be no problem. Unless you bought some really, really shitty quality wire.
