What is the best way to play from IPhone to HU, (No Bluetooth)

I have a Kenwood DDX370, playing from the iPhone through the USB sounds ok at best. It's def lower quality than playing a cd.

So, I remembered it also had a hook up in the back for a 3.5 so I bought 3.5 cord and hooked that up and sound quality is an absolute joke.

What's the best way to play music from my phone thru this unit?

Seems I remember somebody saying, a long time ago in a thread that the iPhone has some buffering system on it that has to be bypassed from some kind of module. I don't know, I may be completely wrong.

Help me out guys, it's ridiculous I can't play from my phone yet.

For the record 16 bit 44 hz flac is CD quality and 24 bit 96 hz is DVD HD audio quality. If you aren't playing lossless files it is impossible for anything to sound as good as a CD. Independent of how it is rigged up.

***** you don't have bt man. It's come along way. The USB should definitely be of as good a quality as a cd. The aux not as much.
Oh man, the difference between USB and cd is night and day.
The difference between 3.5 and cd is Stone Age to modern life as we know it.

What am I doing wrong?

Playing thru USB is terrible, why are you guys recommending this?

I would really wonder what media format you are using? USB/3.5 shouldn't be THAT bad.
I don't even know what this means. A cd is a cd. I play thru the phone from songs downloaded from iTunes.
Play the same song downloaded from iTunes and I burn it to a cd and it's crystal clear.

Play the same song from my iPhone hooked up thru USB and it's terrible.

Play the same song from my iPhone hooked up thru 3.5 and it's stupid inaudible.

How are files from iTunes crappy.

If I burn them to a cd, they are excellent.

I've heard that there is a buffering thing inside the iPhone that is hindering my performance.

I'm guessing nobody in this thread is familiar with it, likely because everybody uses Bluetooth.

Help me out guys, what's the frakkin deal...

I know when I first got my phone it had some audio effects on it that made it sound awful. Might want to check you phone and make sure all processing is turned off.

If if you are burning CDs from the same files than it shouldn't be the file quality (though I would highly recommend lossless files and 24 bit 96 hZ at that.)

I never use BT. Always Apple USB. See if you have a deck setting that adjust the inputs. Some change the EQ when you change sources.
