What is the best shallow sub on the market??

i was impressed with the TW5's. Buddy of mine had the 13" in his reg. cab ranger sealed up with 500rms to it. It sounded good and was decently loud! They are just really expensive.

I have 2 10" MA Aaudio hks, which are shallow mount. was sceptical and not looking forward to buying them, but got a good deal and were ideal for where i needed to put them. I was a surprised at how they sounded to be honest. not very loud, but hit lows quite well and only had 250rms, while theyre rated at 400rms. If you have to get shallow mount subs, i would reccomend these over the pioneer, and kenwoods ive heard ( not saying much) but overall i was pretty impressed with them

if they ever come out I'd buy a pair, but I've been waiting for over a year now

that is the slim line BM, the mag is a shallow mount sub and is currently on the market.

I will definetly keep those in mind. I may just go with one instead of two. Does anyone on here have a good box design for an under the seat install?

I'd recommend the Memphis SClass 10" or 12's if u can fit them. The 10's are 300watt rms and only require .3cuft of airspace for a sealed box. I just put 2 10's in a friend of mines downfiring under the backseat box with 300 gong to each and it sounds great loud and SO clean. and tw5's are just ridiculous.....i mean 500 each????? come on:crap:

i've done some of the cheaper shallow mounts. pioneer, kicker, and kole audio. pioneers were ported in .65 each, tuned to 36(i think). kicker's were sealed in .5 each. kole audio's were ported (forget specs), and none of them were too bad. kole audio was the loudest of the 3, pioneer being second (they really have a difficult time playing too low), but i'm not sure the box was really that good for those kickers. i'd like to hear them ported. i was kinda surprised at the kole audios. correct me if i'm wrong, but i think they are power acoustik. they got loud and sounded ok. i'm in no way recommending any of these. i just had some input. personally, i'd rather do a good pair of 8's over any shallow mount.

Anybody got any reviews/advice on the 10" Kicker CVT? I'm looking at putting a 10" Kicker CVT, Kicker ZX400.1 and an Alpine iDA-X100 in my MR2.

Also, from everything I've read online (and heard in person) Sony woofers are shit. When I went to my local car audio shop (same shop that put L7's in my cutlass in 05) told him I wanted to put a 10" CVT in my MR2, he actually recommend that I get a Sony sub instead. He told me recently Sony has stepped their game up in the Car Audio department, and are now actually manufacturing all of their woofers in the United States which leads to an overall better woofer. Any truth to this mans statement?

The BM should compete with the other shallow mount subs for SQ, the Mag isn't quite a shallow mount design therefore I don't think it is quite fair to compare it to subs like the TW5 or RE SL as they were far more constrained in their design to get the shallow mounting depth. I am not saying either of those sound bad as everyone who has come on here having a TW5 has liked it a lot, and I haven't seen anyone on any forum with the RE SL yet.

As for the BM, based on the XBL^2 motor keeping a linear BL and Le curve as well as a few other features for SQ it should be towards the top of the list for Sq for true shallow mount subs.
