i want to upgrade my system but what brands should i stay away from im interested in amps;autotek,phoenix gold,ma audio, are any of these any good do any do rated power, thanx a lot

The MA audio is the only one I would stay away from, considering that Autotek, and PG do rated power and are pretty reliable, look into MTX TA 7801, AQ1200 at http://www.audioque.com/aq/order.htm

also check out

Sundown at SSA

and Incriminator Audio amps.

PG is a good mix of quality components and pricing.

Set yourself a budget first, then peek around the forums. Many people here sell some good amps for good prices.

I own a Sundown amp and cannot say enough good things about it...There is one thing that sets Sundown apart from all the other companies listed above....Customer Service....The owner of Sundown, Jacob has replied to numerous threads on this forum when people have questions about his products...I've even seen him warranty amps when he didn't have to....That alone was enough to persuade me towards them....Then the amps don't run hot at all!!! If you don't mind buying refurbished amps, you can get a refurbished Sundown at www.db-r.com and it will come with a 1 year warranty (that's what I did). They are the ONLY authorized repair center for Sundown.
