not necessarily... is all music a simple 0db sine waves?
A peak rating tells you how much power it can handle dynamically, in those short bursts...afterall music consists of different consistency of bursts/pulses of sound dictated by the signal (not the amplifier)
So do not think that because you have a few hundered watts continuously capable amplifier on a speaker that it will ever see that power realistically, not even close- whether it be all full volume or not....the source will dictate what that speaker sees, and its never constant in music...its up and down.
