what is defeat

on my alpine HU there is a feature called defeat, im too lazy to read the manual and honestly the people here usually explain stuff a lot better than the 200 page manual does. So what is defeat???

Defeat makes it so the signal goes from strait off the CD to the RCA outputs. None of your settings will have any effect on the music if defeat is on. It's used when passing the signal on to EQ's and external x-overs.

Yea it sets everything back to default while defeat is on meaning that the signal is unaltered. I guess I should have been more clear.
