I have already ordered everything for my system, now I just need to know what kind or wiring/kits I need to install it all because I am pretty much clueless. It's going in my 02 Ford Escape...

Subs: 2 12" Alpine Type-R dual 4 ohms

Sub amp: HiFonics 1206D

Front components: CDT CL-61A-25 PRO 6.5" 2-ways (came with free Monster cable...is that all I need?)

Component amp: HiFonics ZXi 4006

Rear speakers (running off HU): Kicker DS68

I would prefer to get everything retail from Best Buy, Wal-Mart, Rex, etc. because I don't want to wait for shipping again...

Does your head unit have a front/rear/sub RCA outputs?

How many sets of RCA plugs does it have, 1 2 or 3?

Run 2 RCA's to the amps, away from the power wire (run the power wire on the opposite side depending on where ur battery is) if you only have 1 RCA output, use 2x -Y adapters that are female 1 end, then Y's out to two male ends.

You may need a battery post for the power wire...

You may need a wire to run the amp on lead

Wire your subs to your amp this way:

You can get a 4 gauge kit for the larger amp, and an 8 gauge kit for the smaller one...reason being is that you probably won't be able to find a 2, 1, or 0 gauge kit at a local retailer like bestbuy.

Umm cant think of anything else at the moment

Can someone help now that you know my HU? I need to know what wiring to get so I can install my stuff...and will I need a speaker adapter for those components if my car is 6x8?

Well, at 1 ohm the 1206 will require 4 ga by itself - so the 2nd amp pretty much puts you in the 1/0 category.

I don't know if any of the generic chain stores will even stock the stuff you're going to need.

You're getting out of the common crap supplies and into the serious gear.

What you will need --

15-20' 1/0 power wire

Single ANL fuse holder (for use near battery)

~200A ANL fuse

2 way (preferably ANL) fused distribution block

at least 2 way ground distribution block (4 is most common)

~10' 4 ga pwr wire for fused d-block to amps

~10' 4 ga gnd wire for amps to ground d-block

~5' 1/0 gnd wire for ground d-block to ground

20-30' of 16 ga spkr wire from amp to fronts

(factory wiring should be ok for rears)

10-15' of 12 ga spkr wire for subs

15-20' 18 ga wire for remote turn on

2 prs rca wires

Possibly a few y cables.

Some people prefer to go without the ground distribution block and just run your grounds straight from the amps to chassis. There's no performance difference, just a personal thing.

It would save you a few bux to go w/o.

Regardless, it won't be cheap to do it right.

I guess RAWR's suggestion of going with a seperate 4 and 8 kit would work ok too. It should be cheaper.

Since I can't find that stuff retail (****IT GOTTA WAIT FOR SHIPPING AGAIN), what's the best site to get all of that, with fast shipping? Also, I'm building my own box for the subs...what do I need for that besides wood and the tools of course?
