actually, 3 10"s will have more displacement than 2 12". more total volume sweep too!Originally posted by wesleysh I'd give the two 12's the edge based on displacement, but barely. Then a little more of the advantage based on sensitivity of 12's over 10's.
Area of a circle=3.14r squaredOriginally posted by wesleysh I think you either need to recalculate, or show me the figures your working with.
Is that the area of a flat circle or did u figure out the area of an actual cone? or doesn't that matter? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/banghead.gif.8606515f668c74f6de0281deb475b6fd.gifOriginally posted by GSteg Area of a circle=3.14r squared
3 10"s
3.14(5" radius)squared=78.5(3 subs)=235.5 inches squared
2 12"s
3.14(6" radius)squared=113.1(2 subs)=226.2 inches squared

pretty much what I was going to say, there are to many factors at play to answer the question wellOriginally posted by cameron200 Well it all depends on the subs your running and what amps your running them on, also the enclosure plays a big role too. If you had 3 10" W7's up against 2 12" Comp VR's....what do you think the outcome will be? It all depends on the equipment youll be using and the space youll be using it with.
uh..its a flat circle!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif either way..3 10"s will have more displacementOriginally posted by Audio N00B Is that the area of a flat circle or did u figure out the area of an actual cone? or doesn't that matter? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/banghead.gif.8606515f668c74f6de0281deb475b6fd.gif
