Bass is low now

Since I got my other amp installed my bass sounds like it has lowered... the people at the place where I got my amp put in said that whenever your highs and mids are louder, you just think the bass is lower... but I know it has to be lower...

My friend told me that it has to be re-wired to make it sound louder again... but I am not sure how...

If anyone can tell me how to, it will be great...

By the way... I have my Punch 800a4 for my 2 12" Punch DVCs and my Punch 500.2 for my inside speakers...

What are the ohm ratings of the subs ??

check the gains on the sub amp. make sure they didn't rewire anything. having more power to mids/highs can make the bass seem not as loud that is true in my opinion. i know when i added my 600.4 and only ran 2 channel's to my canton comps the bass seemed almost too much for the highs. then i briged the 2 channels and ran 150rms per speaker like i am now and it balanced out to where when i crank the subs i still have good clean highs but at low volume with the remote gain nob on the amp the highs overpower the subs.

Well if you subs are 4 ohm dvc and they have your amp briged front and rear you would be getting either a 8 ohm load to you amp or a 2 ohm load to your amp , If they have it at 2 ohms your amp probably will dye if they have it a 8 ohms your amps not putting out to its potential , You really need to fiqure that that amp would be fine with a 4 ohm load brigded and would be much louder , Im sure someone else here may be able to fiqure out one of those fancy wiring Schematics to get a 4 ohm load to your amp on each channel , If it is only getting a 8 ohm load you are only send appx 200 watts to your subs instead of the 400 watt potential of the amp

take those subs run a series parallel setup. wire each sub in series to get 8ohm per sub then wire parallel to get a 4ohm mono load. then wire your amp briged to 2 channels and that will get you a 2x400watts rms @4ohm. according to RF specs anyway.

How can I tell the difference between the 2 ohms and 8 ohms ??

I am not sure what I should be looking for... Where should my crossover level be at on my amp ? Could that be a problem ??

Also, on my CD player, what does the High Pass Filter serves as and the Low Pass Filter as... I have the option to set that on my radio, but I have i set in the off option right now....

you sound like a newbie no offense so for figuring out what ohm load your subs are at i'd take it back where you got it and ask them. or you could just look and see if all 4 channel's are hooked up on your 800.4 or if 2 are hooked up. also for the hpf on the h/u i would turn that on unless you have a seperate eq even then i still say turn it on. they keep certain freq. out of certain speakers i believe. i know that the hpf is a high pass filter and the lpf is the low pass filter. anywho i'd take it where you got it unless you want to pull one of the subs out and check to see if the wires are in parallel or series. if you want diagrams go to http://www.rockfordfosgate.com
