what headunits work with ipod touch?

sry, i didn't make it totally clear...

It works in that i can control the ipod from my HU (change songs, navigate through artists, albums, genres, etc). It doesn't charge the touch though (it charges my 1st gen ipod video, it justs gives a notification on the touch's screen that i can't charge it for some reason)

ohhh thats odd. it charged on my jenson HU. idk bout that sorry. however i remember some1 telling me to ground the ground wire from the HU to have it charge my ipod. try that maybe idk sorry
the ipod adapter for my eclipse unit has a 3 connectors on it (pwr, gnd, and HU connector). Not sure why charging works for my video but not the touch, maybe if i updated my HU, but its not a big to me. Like i said the touch is my brothers, i only tested it on my HU cause i was curious to see if it worked (he just got it for xmas). 99% of the time my video is hooked up.

Pioneer works with the Touch I know for a fact the deh-p4000 and deh-p7000BT works as I have had both.

with Alpine you HAVE to control the iTouch with the head unit. thus using your iTouch to watch movies USELESS!!!!!

with the Pioneer you can switch control over to the iTouch and watch and movie and have the sound come out of your speakers. or if you choose you can use the head unit to control the iTouch as well.

NO...older head units MIGHT not be able to work with the iTouch as its newer. BUT if the head unit as an AUX input the type of connector that your ear phones use then you can use a male to male cable to go from the iTouch to the aux input on the head unit. and use the iTouch to control you music or videos.

The Alpine IVA-W505 FULLY controls my 2G 32GB iPod Touch from the HU and that includes video (movies, podcasts, EVERYTHING). The AVIC-N4 also has a great iPod interface but I'm not sure if it works with the iPod Touch.

As long as the Unit has a Aux input, you should be able to use it for playing music.

The ones that are "Ipod Ready" are typically referring to controlling the ipod itself from the HU.

any ipod headunit will work with either iPod touch or iPhone's... however here is the catch. The first generation touches and iPhones will be charged by the headunits. The newer iPod touch and iPhone 3G will not be charged by the headunit.
