what happened?

also if you are fealing uber lazey you can just switch the way you hook it up from the amp instead of pulling the box out and fixing it(this way you have to remember what you did or you will notice next time you hook it up i.e. dont get stoned or fix it in the box=)

i mean that you will have the voice coils in this particular standpoint(because this topic can touch onto any electrical component) will try to send the signal backwords hence the no sound output(its not even no sound output once you run each sub individual you will find the one with the polarity wrong will make a really ****ed up sound, hence ****ing up the sound out of the other sub as well unless there in separate inclosure's)
I don't believe you understand what you're talking about. Switching the polarity does not keep sound from being produced but rather just changes the phase by 180*. If two drivers are 180* out of phase and very close to each other (or sharing the same enclosure airspace), one will move out first while the other moves in and the pressure change will be pretty much 0. You need that pressure change to get noticeable bass. The higher frequencies will still come through but not the lower frequencies.

well i went out today and thanks to RUMPLE4SKIN i got my subs hitting like thye used to. and guess what i found...... one of the subs wired differently then the other. so i wired them up the same and now they are pounding hard again. now i just gotta finish my new box today and it will wang even harder. 4.5 cubes tuned to 32.4 hz with 75 sq inches of port. subs forward, port up. should be loud.

do you see this *****'s....

all that running of the mouth for the guys with any knowledge to just repeat me and i guess not be able to read, and a bunch of dumb ***'s that don't ever need to post again.

point of this lesson is, don't lesson to just anyone with a screw driver

yep I'm retarded, its amazing how many of you decide to share your opinion's when you don't read what your talking about, or the post right under it. i was talking about polarity in a hole with any electronics, in a speakers standpoint or a voice coil if you reread the posts you will find that one guy broke it down in exact terms(where as i did not go into huge definition) it sends the ****ing pulse backwords(or 180 degrees) letting the voice coil make a sound that is was not designed to put out, and yes you will have noise and yes it will **** with the other speakers sound output if there in a enclosure together, rofl and yes bass boost is stupid and needs to be left at 0

thanks for your time

LOL, LISTEN. A lesson is what you are about to receive.

he did help me figure out what was wrong but i dont get the point of what he is saying about the screwdriver. who knows
Everybody told you to check your wiring, any idiot can figure out that if the subs arent hooked up right, they arent going to sound right. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

unhook one of the subs and see if it seems louder. if so you have polarity backwards on one of the subs //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
And actually this was the first guy to tell you that. so...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

true true. but it was late last night and i was just furious cuz they werent working right so i wasnt even really thinking about the wiring. i was just mad.
