Well my setup consists of

2 12 sx's

audiobahn rack mount around 1200 rms each

ported box

Anyways im on my way to work and i hear my system just lose output sudenly. so i pull over check in the back and notice that only one of my subs are working.(keep in mind the car is still running.) so i get in the car and just keep the volume low untill i get to work. when i arrived i turned the car OFF to check for any loose wires and what not. didnt find anything wrong. I turn the car back ON and then notice the sub powering up again. So im completely lost on whats going on. i hope it was just a one time thing but if anyone can help me then that be great.

I'm guessing the on-lead wire connection and HU.

What kind of deck are you running, what year is it?...Got a realy?

Voltage drop?...1,200RMS EACH? 2,400RMS watts = (2,400 Watts) / (14.4 Volts) = 166.666667 amperes...(2,400 Watts) / (12 Volts) = 200 amperes

Considering you have 160 amps avail...might be killing ur charging system...got a aftermarket battery?

But your headunit might not be able to power multiple amps (on-lead wire), you may need a relay.

i got a relay hooked up. And i only have 1 amp for both subs so i dont think its the lead wire.

anyone else im just now scared to turn it up incase something does go on it.

When you went back and looked was one of the amps in protect mode? May have just overheated it is starting to get to the warmer time of the year. No one said this so i thought i would.

Yeah since you don't have the upgrade yet the sub just wasn't able to derive the proper amount of power

Don't worry about it. When you get that ALT in there you won't ever worry about that again

alright good then. i just dont get why it did it when its been in the truck for 2 months now but when i upgrade the alternator tom hopefully it will nvr happen again.

thanks for all the help guys.
