What gen is this orion HCCA 225?

This is my newest purchase. I do believe it is pop top g3 but I am not 100% sure. Can someone reaffirm this for me. It is brand new never hooked up.

Got a steal on it also.

Also how do you defeat the crossovers in this amp?

Is this one of the better ones? I have kinda been researching and it seems to be. The pop top is very desirable. From what I understand. I also have a 225r avail to me and another one of these amps.

I prefer the third generations because they had all the performance of the second generation (Digital Reference) line but were a tad more efficient and featured the configurable internal crossover. Two of my favorite companies (a/d/s & Orion) worked together on their design and all the models were fantastic.

I think some of the cost cutting began with the "R" line that followed the third generation models.

I would recommend the 4 gauge input plug (if it does not have it already) for it if you plan on loading it down to 1 ohm and running subs with it. If you can keep the voltage and current feeding it you will have RMS peaks close to the 600 watt range, not bad for a 50W (25W + 25W) amp.

One of my personal favorites along with the 250 HCCA, and still known as the most winningest amp in IASCA history.

will this amp be okay off a stock electrical system. I have 4 gauge ran now. I don't really wanna change the 4 gauge. I haven't done anything else in this car. I have used one of these amps. I am running a pdx2.150 with no problems now adding this shouldn't cause to many either. AM I right about this?
