What fits this app.?

I'm getting tired of my dual 12 inch sub set up in my Camaro. I always have had huge multi sub spl oriented systems in my SUVs, trucks, etc, but I dont want to do this in my Camaro. Too much weight too.

Anyways, I'm getting rid of all of it (enclosure, Mmats D1500.2, and a pair of 12in Fi Audio SSds.) and I just want to get a 500 watt amp (or anything around there) and 10 inch sub, that will go in a custom .65cf (gross) sealed enclosure.

I'm having trouble finding a good sub, as either they are single 4 ohm VC or they dont fit the required volume requirements. I'm looking for a good SQL sub, as I can use all the excursion I can get out of a 10 inch sealed sub.

I'd prefer if the sub had a QTC of .707 - .6 or so. I dont want to have the enclosure be too small as I'd prefer a slightly larger box over a smaller one. I'm geared more towards SQ too.

Any thoughts on this one would help me a lot. Thanks.

qtc will depend on the enclosure, not the sub.

edit: well it will depend on the sub as well. it will be a combination. should of clarified.

I know. Thing is I have a .65cf box to work with since it is a custom build/fit.

Look into an Alpine Type-X. It will have a Qtc of around .75-.8 but that will change when in the car. It should work out very well in that enclosure.

I've looked at all the subs that I know about that are decent, and either they are SVC 4 ohm or won't work well in .55-.6cf sealed.

ahh ok. i figured .65 was what you planned but were willing to deviate from it (the word custom has a tendency to push that idea) in order to achieve your goal.

Yeah I know what you mean. The volume is fixed so it is what I have to work with. I've never had a system so "small" but I'd prefer it now for this vehicle especially. My current one is kinda dumb IMO lol.

The Dayton HO I checked out, seemed darn good but it is a svc 4 ohm, which would just be a pain. I'm looking at the 10 inch IDQv3 as it looks cool, but .65 gross seems a bit small for it....

If not, then I'm all over it. That was the only reason why I passed it up. Opinions?

idq only needs .35-.70, the id needs .40-.80... dont see why both of them wouldnt work

Yeah I'm thinking (and talking about) the V3 of the IDQ sub. It is catching my eye the most at the moment.
